Neosystems North-West Ltd offered the largest enterprise in Irkutsk region Ust-Ilim sawmills, wood processing plant strategy of the Complex Information System (CIS) at the request of the management company of Ilim Timber Industry.
Negotiation of owners and management of the plant with the Neosystems North-West Ltd on the development of CIS started in the spring of 2009 in St. Petersburg. As a basis for the CIS was considered software of ERP-class 1C:Sawmill 8 (with additional modules to manage repairs and transport). It was necessary to analyze the needs of the plant, the key goals and objectives of future CIS to offer an suitable development strategy. This work was performed in the fall of 2009.
Express survey is an important stage of project implementation technology, which company Neosistemy Northwest LTD uses. During the express survey a preliminary collection of information is gathered about the company to identify objectives, features and characteristics of future automated accounting system, as well as a preliminary assessment of the volume and value of work. The analysis help to choose the most rational choice of software, the strategy of the work, complete a preliminary calculation of labor, drafted the schedule for the next stages of introduction. As a result of Express survey there is a document called "Report on the express survey", containing information on the budget for the upcoming project, a list of necessary software, the preliminary estimates the schedule and sequence of work, a brief description of business processes, a description of goals and objectives of an automated system, as a result project and identify risks and constraints of the project. "Report on the express survey" allows the parties to come to the same concept of "what needs to be automated," "How much” and "How to run the project”.
Special attention in the course of the work on the collection of information was given to the interaction between the company and management company. In accordance with the business strategy of the holding company plant is a production unit , and the sale of products happens in sales department of managing company. 4000 km and the difference in 5 hours complicate interaction between marketing and production departments. These communication problems lead to long contract award procedure in the production (the calculation of its economic and productive efficiency), and placement is not effective, not cost-effective orders for production.
Based on the information collected on the interaction of supply and production unit, the Neosystems North-West Ltd has proposed to implement a tool of the provisional assessment of economic and productive characteristics of potential customer orders in the operating company, and being part of CIS. The proposed tool has been implemented as a prototype and presented already in release 1.2.29 of software "1C:Sawmill 8". The tool solves the optimization problem the most efficient implementation of the order based on the technological capabilities of enterprises (production lines), residues and projections for raw materials, the current production plan. In general, it is expected that the use of this tool will allow any company to refuse orders are not viable yet at the stage of discussion with the client and increase their profitability by 2-5%. The tool allows the customer to agree with such an order, which is economically feasible to carry out by enterprise and is needed to a client.
Neosystems North-West Ltd continues to discuss the development strategy of CIS with the company and management company.
